"I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. Genesis 12:2 NIV
Once upon a time is a phrase that has been traditionally used to introduce stories in children’s books. Today, I am not presenting a book I have written for children. I am not presenting fiction or a fairytale, I am presenting my biography, written and illustrated by my goddaughter, Danyale Hardaway.
Danyale’s grandfather, John Towns and my Man of God, Pastor Robert E. Jones, I, were neighbors and church members for 55+ years. This relationship has encompassed their spouses and children. We were honored to take this bond into the next generation when my husband and I were chosen to be the twins, Dylan and Danyale’s godparents. What a blessing to be entrusted to influence their lives.
In life, some people are seasonal, and some are for a lifetime. The challenge is to let the seasonal people go when the season is done and to cherish the lifers. Now that John and my husband are in heaven, I cherish the life connection of the Jones and Towns families.
Read my story on the slideshow above that Danyale wrote for a school project. Scroll through and enjoy this book written by this budding 8-year-old author. Share it with others and when she becomes a Pulitzer Prize winner, remember you read her first work here.
I have written a book and now I have a book written about me. Praise the Lord. By the way, if you have not purchased my devotional, EmpowerMoments for the Everyday Woman: A 31-Day Devotional to Empower Your Womanhood, follow this link: http://www.alwaysafirstlady.com/shop/
Once upon a time, God sent His Son to die for the sins of the entire world. Because of Jesus’s death on the cross, as believers, we will live eternally with God and have abundant life in the earth realm.
God has called me to be an influencer. I marvel at the ways that He has and is making my name great to walk out this calling abundantly. He has a call on your life as well. Get before God, inquire of Him what and how to fulfill His call in your life to be a blessing for the body of Christ.
