Look a here, look a here, look a here, I’m in my rain boots. Now let me tell you the story surrounding these boots.
The night before my recent trip to Canada, I was talking to My Trusted Assistant, Dedicated Delta Daughter, Necole. I told her that the Niagara Falls boat excursion planned recommended rain boots. Well, as she was on her way home, she offered to stop and buy me rain boots. I told her that I would wear my Keds and let them dry out afterward. It wasn’t necessary or a break deal to buy boots.
Ok fast forward to the next very early, early, early morning flight day and Necole was my driver. When I got in the car, she had boots. After she had spoken to me that night, she turned around, went to the store, and purchased not just one but two pairs for me to try on at curbside. She wanted her Mamma to have boots and a fine pair she bought me.
Needless to say, they fit perfectly, and my feet were dry the entire time. Thanks, Necole for taking good care of your Daddy’s wife.
In this journey called life, we have some ups and some downs, some good days and some bad days. Some sunny days and some rain. We don’t always get to choose what presents but as believers, we get to choose how we respond to the situations that show up. Since inevitably rain will come, we must be Rain Ready.
What exactly is Rain Ready and how do you get there?
In the natural realm, Rain Ready is to be equipped with suitable gear to shield you from the rain. You get there by acquiring rain gear: raincoat, umbrella, and of course rain boots.
Spiritually speaking, Rain Ready is to be prepared with the proper spiritual equipment to protect you from the rainy seasons of life. You get there by armoring up with the Word of God.
Matthew 6:33 ESV But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Isaiah 1:19 NKJV If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;
Put on the Proper Equipment
Ephesians 6:13-18 KJV Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Know That God is Protecting You
Psalm 121 KJV I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
When you read, hear, meditate and act on the Word, It always prepares you to be Rain Ready for the sprinkles, showers, storms, and even the torrential downpours of life. You will be like that house that is built on the rock. The rains fell, the floods came, the winds blew but the house stood because it was Rain Ready.
Have you been searching for shelter from the rainstorms of life and have not made Jesus your Lord and Savior? I recommend that you go here, follow the simple steps and become Rain Ready.
By the way, look closely at the crossbody purse I have. Thanks, Favorite Son for orchestrating this gift when I mentioned I wanted one for a trip. I’m purse ready too.
